Scope

What You Can Get

One visit can cover roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, or the whole exterior. We scope it to what your property needs.

  • Rainwater sheeting off the standing-seam roof edge of a black board-and-batten home

    Moss and algae, handled gently

    Roof Soft Wash

Soft wash roof cleaning lifts moss and algae at low pressure while the granules stay on your shingles and the water stays outside them.

    • A soft-wash treatment at low pressure
    • Targets moss and algae at the source
    • Matched to asphalt and composite roofing
    • Moss and algae prevention available
  • Water running clear off a cedar-soffit eave and gutter line onto wet bluestone

Keep water moving off the roof

    Gutter Cleaning & Flush

Gutter cleaning means the debris comes out and the whole run gets flushed, so the downspouts are proven to work before we leave.

    • Debris cleared out, not skimmed off the top
    • Downspouts flushed and checked
    • Bundles with a roof soft-wash in the same visit
  • Covered entry with a stone veneer surround and a freshly rinsed bluestone stoop

    The whole outside, one visit

    Full Exterior House Wash

House washing gives siding and exterior surfaces the same soft wash treatment as the roof, so the property comes clean all at once.

    • Siding washed alongside roof and gutters
    • One crew, one scheduled visit
    • Same soft-wash approach used on the roof

FAQ

Roof & Gutter Cleaning FAQs

Straight answers before you request a quote.

Most Whatcom County roofs do well with a roof cleaning every one to three years, depending on shade, tree cover, and how fast moss takes hold. Bellingham's wet climate grows algae and moss faster than the drier parts of the state. We look at the condition of your roof during the free quote and recommend an interval for that roof rather than a blanket schedule.

Soft wash roof cleaning treats the roof with low-pressure chemistry that clears moss and algae without blasting the shingles. High pressure is for surfaces built to take it. If you want the whole exterior handled at once, gutter cleaning and a house wash bundle with the roof treatment.

Roof cleaning is safe for asphalt shingles when the method matches the material. Soft wash chemistry at low pressure is the standard, because high pressure strips granules and shortens the life of the roof. We confirm your roof type during the quote so the clean never wears the surface down.

Cost depends on roof height and how packed the gutters are, so we price it with a free quote. Our Roof & Gutter Cleaning service covers the clearing and flush along with soft wash roof treatment and moss removal.

Costs & Pricing

How much should roof cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on roof size, pitch, access, and how much moss or algae has built up. Every property is different, so we give a free on-site or photo-based quote before any work is scheduled.

Is house washing priced separately from roof cleaning?

They can be bundled or quoted separately depending on what your property needs. Roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and exterior house washing are each scoped individually in your free quote.

Is it worth paying someone to clean your gutters?

For most homeowners, yes. Gutter cleaning means ladder time, often in wet weather. A pro visit clears and flushes the gutters and can bundle with roof cleaning in the same trip.

Process & Timeline

How long does roof and gutter cleaning take?

Most single-family homes are completed in a day, depending on roof size, gutter length, and how much buildup needs treating. We confirm an estimated window when we schedule your visit.

Is roof cleaning necessary?

In this climate, yes. Moss and algae grow back year-round on Whatcom County roofs, and shaded ones collect it fastest, so roof cleaning here is maintenance, not cosmetics.

Will moss come back after treatment?

Moss and algae prevention options can slow regrowth, but shaded, conifer-heavy roofs will need maintenance washes over time. We can recommend a re-treatment interval based on your property.

Local Conditions

Why does moss grow so fast on roofs in Western Washington?

Year-round rain, shade from conifers, and mild temperatures create ideal conditions for moss and algae. It is one of the most common property-care calls we get across Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

Do gutters clog faster near fir and cedar trees?

Yes. Needle drop from the conifers all over our service area packs into a gutter faster than deciduous leaf litter does on its own. We check for it on every gutter clearing visit.

Do you serve homes across all of Whatcom & Skagit Counties, WA?

Yes. We handle roof and gutter cleaning across Bellingham, Blaine, Ferndale, Birch Bay, Lynden, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes.

Whatcom & Skagit Counties, WA

Roof and gutter cleaning across Whatcom & Skagit Counties, WA

We run roof and gutter work out of Blaine across the whole of Whatcom & Skagit Counties, WA, and the same roof pitch does not weather the same way at both ends of that area. On the saltwater side (Blaine, Birch Bay, Anacortes), the weather side of a house takes the brunt, and the north and west elevations show it first. Inland toward Lynden and the Skagit valley the problem is less salt and more organic: field dust, spray drift, and conifer litter that holds moisture against the shingles long after the rain stops.

That is why we quote off the roof in front of us rather than off a price list. We look at the pitch, the tree cover, the state of the gutters and where the water is actually going, then give you a fixed price before anything starts. If the roof does not need it yet, we will tell you that too.

When to book, and how much to take on

Moss does its growing through the wet months, so it is most visible in late winter and easiest to treat before the next growing season gets going. Spring and early summer are the busiest stretch for that reason. Gutters are the opposite problem: they need clearing after the conifers and deciduous trees have finished dropping, which around here means late fall, and again in spring if the property is under heavy cover. A house with firs overhanging the roofline is realistically a twice-a-year gutter property.

Most homeowners start with one part, the roof or the gutters, and add the rest once they see the difference. Doing the roof, the gutters, and a full house wash in one visit is cheaper than three visits, and it keeps you from rinsing a clean elevation with dirty runoff from above. If you are only doing one thing this year, the gutters are usually the one that prevents damage rather than just improving appearance.
